The Artist Behind the Algorithm
Tom, a visual designer from Bacau with extensive video editing experience, intentionally maintains a low profile, wanting the focus to remain on Lolita Churchel. He explained that the idea for “Lolita” stemmed from a desire to express emotion through lyrics, and AI provided the means to realize that vision.
“I tried to make it as realistic as possible. The inspiration came from an 80-year-old collection of poems by a Romanian author who used colloquial, slum language. I liked the style and adapted it for Lolita to make it authentic,” Tom explained.
Crafting a Digital Persona
The creation of Lolita’s music videos isn’t as simple as it might seem. Tom dedicates up to two weeks to each video, combining AI tools with classic editing methods. He meticulously constructs frames by hand before integrating them into a cohesive visual experience.
“It’s a mixture of artificial intelligence and classical music. I work on several videos in parallel, filming, editing, and editing. Technology has allowed me to bring my ideas to life,” Tom says.
He believes Lolita will continue to evolve within the musical direction that has already resonated with audiences, fueled by a lifelong passion for music now unlocked by AI: “Technology has democratized the process. Now I can turn my thoughts into reality.”
Stage Presence for a Virtual Star?
The possibility of live concerts featuring Lolita is already being explored. “We plan for this from the very beginning of the project. There is a desire, but we’ll see how everything develops,” Tom shared.
