Cristiano Ronaldo will play for Al Nasser West in Saudi Arabia at the beginning of 2023, it was reported today (Monday) in the Madrid newspaper ‘Marca’. This publication comes after the newspaper reported last week that the Portuguese is close to concluding a contract for two and a half years and is now scheduled to arrive at his new team on January 1st, i.e. after the World Cup.

As you know, Ronaldo became a free agent just before the World Cup after parting with Manchester United in harsh tones. Already in the summer he was looking for a team that would play in the Champions League, but not a single one was found that would agree to sign him and in the end he was forced to stay at United. Even now it seems that he will not find such a group and the move to Saudi Arabia is motivated by financial considerations.

According to estimates, Ronaldo will earn in Al Nasser an amount approaching 200 million euros per season when taking into account base salary and various advertising agreements. For comparison, Leo Messi and Neymar earn about 70-75 million euros per season at PSG, but that’s not even close to what the Portuguese will earn.

Al Nasser’s stadium, Marsol Park, has about 25,000 seats. The champion of the Saudi league is Al-Hilal, which is also the biggest rival of the team that the phenomenon is expected to join: “The agreement with Al Nasser will be closed, there is no legal obstacle that prevents it and the Portuguese agreed to the offer”, they promised in Spain.
