Ronnie O’Sullivan, the seven-time world snooker champion, is seeking a change of scenery, revealing plans to leave the UK for a new life in the Middle East following a whirlwind year that included a surprise marriage to actress Laila rouass. The 49-year-old has been absent from several high-profile tournaments, citing both medical reasons adn a desire for a more peaceful existence.

The British Open is currently crowning its new champion in Cheltenham, a tournament steeped in history with past victors including Steve Davis, Stephen hendry, and John Higgins.O’Sullivan himself is a former champion, but withdrew from this year’s competition at short notice, adding to a pattern of absences that began with a withdrawal from the English Open earlier this month. his last competitive appearance was at the Saudi Arabia Masters in August, where he narrowly lost to Neil Robertson.

O’Sullivan’s recent withdrawals have sparked speculation, particularly following a highly unusual incident earlier this year.During the Championship League in Leicester, the normally composed player experienced a visible meltdown, breaking his cue in frustration. He subsequently returned to competition at the World Snooker Championship in April, reaching the semi-finals before being defeated by Zhao Xintong.

These on-court incidents coincide with a period of personal upheaval, most notably his rekindled and recently solidified relationship with actress Laila rouass.
