“Rosatom” can offer Armenia nuclear reactors of various capacities, the First Deputy General Director of “Rosatom” Kirill Komarov announced at a meeting with journalists in the framework of “Atomexpo 2024”, Aysor.am correspondent reports from Sochi.
“The issue related to the next block in Armenia is certainly the decision of the RA government. I can say that there are different predictions of what power the block needs. I communicate with our energy partners and there are different opinions that Armenia is interested in a thousand tons of aggregate as well, especially if it is possible to ensure some partial export to neighboring countries, for example, Georgia. Therefore, this is still a problem that the leadership of Armenia must solve,” said Komarov.
He noted that one should not fall into illusions and understand that a low-power plant will always be more expensive than a high-power one.
“It will be necessary to find a solution with the Armenian government, which on the one hand will best meet the needs of Armenia’s energy system, and on the other hand will provide the cheapest and most stable electricity,” added Komarov.
