Reports that in Russia, after research by Roskomnadzor, they may ban the sale of Apple equipment, are false. This was stated in the press service of the regulator.
“No”, – said in the press service of the TASS agency to the question of whether it is possible to ban Apple equipment in Russia after conducting research.
Earlier, information appeared in the media that such a ban could be introduced after research by the Center for Monitoring and Control of the Public Communications Network (CMU SSOP), subordinate to Roskomnadzor. The center will check gadgets from Apple and other foreign manufacturers to ensure that users have secure access to Russian digital services.
On August 2, Vedomosti, citing tender documentation posted on the public procurement portal, reported that the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Main Radio Frequency Center, subordinate to Roskomnadzor, would purchase 54 devices for 2.3 million rubles, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.
