Rospotrebnadzor noticed an increase in one of the mutations of the coronavirus in Russia

The Rospotrebnadzor reported that the “northwest mutation” of COVID-19 is gaining increasing importance in the country. According to the deputy head of the department’s Central Research Institute of Epidemiology, Alexander Gorelov, “epidemiologists are rapidly monitoring its spread.”

It is also reported that in the first half of May, 401 samples of the British strain of coronavirus and 33 of the South African strain were detected in the Russian Federation.
