Rosstat recorded a slowdown in the growth of real wages in Russia

The size of the average monthly accrued wages of employees of organizations in Russia at the end of October amounted to 54,649 rubles. In nominal terms, the indicator increased by 8.8% compared to the same month in 2020, and in real terms – taking into account inflation, which in October amounted to 8.13% in annual terms – by 0.6%.

This increase in the average salary in the country has become the minimum since the beginning of the year, in January its increase was 0.1%. After that, the indicator did not fall below 1%.

At the same time, the average salary in Russia in January-October amounted to 54,479 rubles. This is 9.2% more than in the same period last year, in nominal terms. In real terms, the indicator increased by 2.7%.

Earlier, Rosstat reported that this year almost 690,000 Russians were paid no higher than the minimum wage, which is 12,792 rubles. However, since 2019, the share of such citizens has decreased from 2.9 to 2.5%, the statistics department noted.

On December 14, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order on the allocation of 12.2 billion rubles from the government reserve fund. to increase the wages of public sector employees. The measure concerns doctors, teachers and cultural workers. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to direct funds to increase the wages of workers in these regions.
