With this year’s IPL cricket series set to begin on the 26th, Doubles has been appointed as the new captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

Duplessis, the former captain of the South African team, has been playing for the Chennai Super Kings for 10 years. He was auctioned by the Bangalore team for Rs 7 crore this season. He is currently the 7th captain of the Bangalore team. This is the first time Duplessis has captained the team in a T20 tournament.

The 37-year-old Doubles has played in 100 matches in the IPL so far and scored 2935 runs. He scored 633 runs for Chennai last season.

Former captain Virat Kohli has welcomed the new captain Duplicity.
