Rozzano mothers parade

At least 400 people who left around 7pm from the town hall square of Rozzano, in the Milan area, took part in the torchlight procession in memory of Manuel Mastrapasqua, who was killed by a stab wound in the street on the night between 10 and 11 October. “Justice for Manuel”, shouted the participants in the silence, clutching candles and tealights in their hands. Afterwards there was a big round of applause from those present as the people of the area looked out the windows.

The small silent procession, opened by his sister Marika, his younger brother and other relatives and closest friends, reached the home of the 31-year-old.

“We pay the life sentence for her life, not for him.” With these words, Manuel’s sister, Marika Mastrapasqua, told reporters about the arrest of Daniele Rezza, 19 years old, for murder, who allegedly slashed the boy to steal a pair of headphones. The anger of the victim’s family is growing, especially because of the alleged escape attempt. “The father had to take him to the barracks, not letting him escape”, said his mother Angela, stressing that the parent would try to “escape him” and “wash his trousers”. Reiterating that he was a good boy, the mother then explained “Manuel has never had anything to do with Rozzano, he doesn’t know anyone. The mayor says it’s a safe place but he should get out at 3 at home. morning..”.
