NFL on RTL: Week 5 Schedule – Vikings, Broncos, Lions & More Live on TV & Stream
RTL will deliver a packed Week 5 of NFL action, featuring four live games including a London matchup and key contests for contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions.
Week 5 of the NFL regular season promises a thrilling slate of games, and RTL is set to broadcast a comprehensive lineup for German audiences. Beyond the usual Sunday evening offerings, viewers can look forward to a total of four games, including the NFL London game, available both on free TV and via streaming on RTL+. The action kicks off on October 5th with a compelling schedule featuring teams looking to solidify their positions in a competitive league.
NFL London Game: Vikings Face Browns
The first of RTL’s broadcasts on Sunday, October 5th, will be the NFL London game, pitting the Minnesota Vikings against the Cleveland Browns at 3:30 p.m. local time. The Vikings are coming off a narrow 21-24 loss to the Steelers, despite a late-game rally. Facing the Browns in London presents a potentially more favorable matchup, particularly given the Browns’ recent struggles. According to reports, the Browns were thoroughly defeated by the Lions with a score of 10-34, a result that is believed to have significantly impacted team morale.
Eagles Host Broncos in a Clash of Titans
Later that evening, at 7 p.m., the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles will host the Denver Broncos. The Eagles, fresh off a 31-25 victory over the previously unbeaten Buccaneers, boast a perfect 4-0 record. The Broncos, considered underdogs in this contest, will need a strong performance to challenge the Super Bowl champions. However, the Bengals recently delivered a decisive 28-3 victory, raising questions about the Eagles’ potential vulnerabilities.
Raiders and Colts Battle for Momentum
Also at 7 p.m. on October 5th, the Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts, exclusively on RTL+ in a live stream. The Raiders have struggled this season, suffering a 3-9 defeat against the Bears in Week 4, marking their third loss of the season. The Colts, despite a 20-27 loss to the Rams in Week 4, have demonstrated a potent offensive attack. The question remains whether their defense can hold up against the Raiders’ offense.
Lions Look to Continue Dominance Against Bengals
Rounding out the Sunday coverage, at 10:25 p.m., the Detroit Lions will visit the Cincinnati Bengals. The Lions have been on a tear, winning their last three games and scoring an impressive 124 points in those victories. Amon-Ra St. Brown played a key role in their recent success, scoring twice against the Browns. The Bengals, however, are currently facing challenges after two wins, and the Lions will aim to continue their winning streak.
RTL’s Expanded NFL Coverage in 2025
RTL’s commitment to the NFL extends beyond Week 5. The network will enter its third season broadcasting the league in 2025, continuing its tradition of showing two games live on free TV – one at 7 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. – and a third game via live stream on RTL+. RTL has also secured the rights to broadcast premium matches, including the Season Opener between the Cowboys and Eagles, all the London Games, and games held in Berlin, Madrid, and Dublin.
“Good Evening Football” and Expert Analysis
Enhancing the viewing experience, RTL will launch a new live talk format, “Good Evening Football,” starting in September 2025. The show, airing on Nitro at 6:15 p.m., will be hosted by Jan Stecker and feature insights from top RTL NFL experts Patrick Esume and Björn Werner. The broadcast team for the free TV games will include Patrick Esume, Björn Werner, Kasim Edebali, Jana Wosnitza, Florian Ambrosius, Adrian Franke, Mika Kaul, Frederick Schulz, Tobias Budde, Markus Kuhn, and Sebastian Vollmer, providing comprehensive coverage and analysis.
