After an incredible career, more than 1,500 songs recorded, concerts in front of the biggest in the world, Nana Mouskouri, the Greek and French singers, say goodbye to the stage. She doesn’t want to do too many concerts.
“I remember Dalida, she once sang ‘I want to die on stage’. For me, my real life is the stagesince I was a little girl. My whole life came on stage after that,” she says to RTL.
“But I wouldn’t want to die in front of me, because I don’t want to hurt the community. They love me so much, and I love them too. We share extraordinary things. They will suffer too, so we can’t hurt others,” she says.
“I also wanted, at the same time, to die as quietly as possible. It means I don’t even know I’m sick, because that’s also sadness. I owe all this to the people who listened to me and believed in me. They put me in a place I didn’t belong. But the recognition they give me, I am very, very, deeply touched,” she concludes with emotion.
