The 15th season of IPL has started today. CSK, led by Ravindra Jadeja, and KKR, led by Shreyas Iyer, will play in the first match at Wankhede, Mumbai.
The match started at 7.30 pm Indian time. The toss was made at 7 p.m. KKR captain Shreyas Iyer, who won the toss, opted for fielding.
CSK Team:
Rudraj Kejriwal, Devon Conway, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Jadeja (captain), Shivam Dubey, Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Bravo, Mitchell Sandner, Adam Milne, Tushar Deshpande.
KKR Team:
Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (captain), Nitish Rana, Sam Billings (wicket-keeper), Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson, Umesh Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakraborty.
Rudraj Kejriwal and New Zealand’s Devon Conway both made their debuts. Umesh Yadav, who bowled the first ball of the KKR team as a no ball, bowled brilliantly without giving a run in the free hit. Umesh Yadav sent Rudraraj out for a duck in the 3rd over.
Robin Uthappa, who was paired with Devon Conway for the 2nd wicket, was out for 3 off 8 balls. Conway was also knocked down by Umesh Yadav. CSK lost 2 wickets for 28 runs.
