The measure will benefit 1,000 workers and allow improving the fire strategy

The president and candidate of PPdeG, Alfonso Ruedacommitted Tuesday to extending the work of the fire fighting service personnelif he continues to lead the Xunta after 18F. Rueda met with the associations this Tuesday Apropiga, Atrifoga and Aproxecugal, who represent the operators to propose the measure, which would benefit more than a thousand professionals. Another 2,000 service employees are hired all year round.
The PP’s plan is to apply the increase gradually, so that this year the operators will work seven months and will reach nine in 2026. Rueda highlighted that the expansion will mean a important qualitative leap for workers and will allow for better planning and improvement of lume prevention work. The measure links with the previous increase in service, which in 2020 went from three to six months.
Ramn Abeijn, on behalf of the workers’ association, points out that the measure will be positive both for the workers themselves and for the service itself, and adds that it will benefit the entire population because it will allow a better, more professional, more efficient and most effective
