Crowd invaded Makhachkala airport

A Russia
accused the Ukraine
of playing a “key role” in the riot that took place at Makhachkala airport, capital of the Russian republic of Dagestan, against Jews and Israelis arriving by flight from Israel
this Sunday (29).

“The criminal regime of Kiev
played a direct and fundamental role in carrying out the latest destructive act,” Russian Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

Yesterday, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, called what happened “Russian anti-Semitism and systemic hatred against other nations.”

This Sunday, a crowd entered the airport amid tensions between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas, which have left more than 9,000 people dead, more than 8,000 of whom are on the Palestinian side.

The Russian Interior Ministry reported that nine police officers were injured in the action, two of which needed to be hospitalized.

“More than 150 participants in the riots were identified, and 60 were detained,” added the statement from the ministry’s press service. “Currently, the airport is under the control of the authorities.”

The situation increased conflict tensions, especially in Israel, which called on Russian authorities to take measures to protect Israeli citizens and Jews there.

Russia, in turn, announced the opening of a criminal investigation to identify and arrest the protesters involved in the conflicts.
