Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan are preparing to hold a meeting on the issue of Afghanistan, it may take place by the end of January, Zamir Kabulov, the special representative of the Russian President on the issue of Afghanistan, told TASS.
“The Russia-China-Iran-Pakistan meeting is in the stage of preparation, it will take place,” the diplomat said, adding that according to preliminary information, it will take place by the end of January, but the place of the meeting has not yet been specified.
He also noted that the fact of Iran striking Pakistan and the tension between the countries will not affect the meeting, “there are no such fears”.
The special representative of the Russian President on the issue of Afghanistan also noted that “cooperation with the current authorities of Afghanistan from the perspective of creating an inclusive government”, as well as the fight against terrorism and drug-related crimes, are among the issues on the agenda of the meeting.
