Russia expects Bangladesh to return to constitutional rules as soon as possible in the internal political process. The Russian Ministry gave this information in a statement about the situation in Bangladesh.

On Tuesday (August 6), the Embassy of Dhaka said in a statement citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Bangladeshi media reported the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet on August 5 in view of the movement to demand justice for those responsible for the July anti-government student protests. Bangladesh Army is controlling the situation in the country. An interim government is expected to be formed soon.

The statement also said that no Russian citizens were injured in the protests. Even if there is any change in Bangladesh, the basis on which Moscow works is that it is an internal matter of the country. However, we as a friendly country hope that Bangladesh returns to the constitutional order as soon as possible in the internal political process.

It should be noted that Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister on August 5 in view of the quota reform movement and left the country.
