Russia’s Gazprom says it has stopped supplying gas to Latvia.
After the war in Ukraine, Russia forced European countries to pay gas prices in rubles rather than euros. Russia stopped supplying gas to Bulgaria, Finland, Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany, which disagreed.
Similarly, Russia’s Gazprom has suspended gas supplies to Latvia, citing breach of purchase conditions. Latvia is dependent on Russia for its imports, with gas supplying 26 percent of its total energy needs.
