The Russian Interior Ministry has issued a search and arrest warrant against the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This action is part of the policy adopted by the Russian authorities, which since the beginning of the war in Ukraine have sought those responsible for the Ukrainian government.

According to information from the Europa Press agency, Zelensky was included in the list of people under a search and arrest warrant, although the article of the Penal Code of the Russian Federation under which he is wanted was not specified. Zelensky, born in 1978 in Krivoi Rog, Dnipropetrovsk region in Ukraine, is now listed in the Russian Interior Ministry database.

This inclusion follows a previous trend by Russian authorities, such as the recent appearance on the list of the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Litvinenko. In parallel to this event, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces took control of the Ukrainian town of Ocherétine, in the Donetsk region, after days of bombing in the area.

Although Ukrainian sources indicate that fighting continues, the capture of Ocherétine by Russian forces marks a significant advance in the region. If Ukraine confirms the loss of Ocherétine, it will be the third Donetsk town to lose in a short time, in a context of Russian advances on the eastern front since the conquest of the strategic town of Avdiivka in February.
