Kyiv: Ukraine says world’s largest plane crashes in Russian attack The AN-225 Maria (meaning dream in Ukrainian) crashed during an attack on an airfield near Kiev on Sunday. Ukraine strongly condemned Russia’s move and said it would rebuild its dream aircraft.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry tweeted that Russia had destroyed the plane, which was a sign of hope during Kovid’s dark hours. Ukraine’s foreign ministry says Russian forces shot down a plane carrying a large number of life – saving vaccines and PPE kits worldwide during the Kovid expansion.
‘Russia may be able to destroy our Maria. But they can never destroy our dream of a strong, free and democratic European nation. We will win ‘- tweeted Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitrov Kuleba, sharing a picture of Maria.
The 84-meter-long aircraft can carry up to 250 tons (551,000 pounds) of cargo. Built by Antonov, a Ukrainian aeronautics company, the Mria can travel at speeds of up to 850 kilometers per hour. The AN-225 Maria was first launched in 1988.
