Representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States will convene in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11, 2026, for a new round of tripartite peace talks mediated by Washington as reported by Thanh Niên. The upcoming discussions aim to address the conflict before the winter season arrives.

Moscow Names Delegation Head

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on November 4 that Vladimir Medinsky, an assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin, will lead the Russian delegation according to VietNamNet. Mr. Peskov stated that the talks will center on security matters and security guarantees, noting that all specifics will be discussed in private as reported by Dantri.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff outlined that the Abu Dhabi discussions will focus on post-conflict security agreements, de-escalation, humanitarian measures, and ending the conflict.

Brussels Holds Separate European Meetings

European allies will not have a direct seat at the Abu Dhabi negotiating table noted by the Voice of Vietnam. Instead, US officials are scheduled to hold specialist meetings in Brussels with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO according to Thanh Niên.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed caution regarding Moscow’s seriousness about negotiating a lasting peace, pointing out that Russia has yet to demonstrate concrete steps toward a ceasefire reported the World and Vietnam newspaper. Czech President Petr Pavel warned that if European nations fail to proactively introduce their requirements into the peace process, Russia and the US could reach an agreement that bypasses them.

Leaders Pursue Direct Summit Goals

US diplomatic efforts restarted in September through separate meetings in Kyiv and Moscow, culminating in President Vladimir Putin agreeing to join the new trilateral round after meeting Mr. Witkoff in St. Petersburg according to Thanh Niên.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed his participation, expressing hope that technical talks could eventually pave the way for a direct summit between the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States reported Người Đưa Tin.
