Russia-Ukraine war: Putin will make an “important statement” about the fighting

Russia-Ukraine War: It was reported in Russia today (Tuesday) that the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, is supposed to make an “important statement” about the war in Ukraine tomorrow. Official confirmation of this has not yet been given by the Kremlin.

In Ukraine they claim: this is the huge number of casualties in the Russian army in the war
Another embarrassment for the Russian army: the commander of the war in Ukraine was replaced for the fifth time

Putin’s statement is expected to be on the day marking the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad held by Nazi Germany. However, in the West the announcement is taken with limited credence, as Putin’s public appearances have often been pre-announced by Russian officials, before being canceled at the last minute.

Meanwhile, Russia’s situation in the war does not look good, as the Ukrainian army claimed today that close to 117 thousand Russian soldiers have been killed so far in the war. If these figures are accurate, it means that Russia lost more soldiers in Ukraine than the US lost during its involvement in World War I. Russia’s losses have already exceeded those recorded by the US in the Vietnam War (58,220) and the Korean War (36,516) combined.
