by time news

The war in Ukraine continues to take a heavy toll on the Ukrainian people, when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this morning (Monday) that two new mass graves had been discovered, each containing hundreds of bodies. Russia has not yet responded to Zelensky’s new claims.

The president of Ukraine was interviewed by the American broadcast network CBS, where he announced the discovery of the two graves, both in the territory in the north-east of the country which was recaptured by the Ukrainians earlier this month. In the interview, Zelensky called for further sanctions on Russia and its leader, Vladimir Putin.

Simultaneously with the discovery of the graves, the United States announced that it would transfer an additional 457.5 million dollars as security aid payments to Ukraine. American Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the new addition and said that “the aid is intended to help the law enforcement and criminal justice authorities in Ukraine.”
