As the city of Mariupol in Ukraine is reported to have been captured by Russian forces, a shocking scene has emerged of Ukrainian soldiers surrendering to Russian troops.
The Russian Defense Ministry says it has captured the port of Mariupol, and that 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered.
In a video aired on Russian state television, you can see Ukrainian soldiers raising their hands as they exit a bunker.
Russia says 1,026 Ukrainian soldiers at a steel plant in Mariupol have been rounded up by Russian forces and have been forced to surrender, 162 of them military personnel. However, Ukraine has denied Russia’s claim.
