Russian short track skater Konstantin Ivliev won a silver medal in the 500m at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The first place was taken by an athlete from Hungary Shaoang Liu. He ran the distance in 40.338 seconds. and became a two-time Olympic champion. Ivliev’s time is 40.431 sec. Canadian Canadian Steven Dubois finished third with a score of 40.669 seconds.

Thanks to Ivliev’s silver in the team of the Russian Olympic Committee, under the flag of which Russian athletes compete due to doping sanctions, there are now 16 medals at the Beijing Games – four gold, five silver and seven bronze. The first place is occupied by Norway with nine gold medals.
