Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in India today on a one-day visit. This evening, Putin and Prime Minister Modi will meet at the Hyderabad House in Delhi. During the talks, the two leaders are expected to discuss issues of international importance, including the Afghan Taliban regime and China’s border invasion.

This is followed by the signing of 10 major agreements on energy, culture, security and investment. According to reports, Modi and Putin will hold separate talks with the two countries’ representatives.

India is to buy AK203 machine guns from Russia at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore. An agreement has already been reached with Russia to buy S400 missile equipment.

Earlier today, the Foreign and Defense Ministers of the two countries are scheduled to hold talks at 10 am. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived at the Delhi Bridge Airport last night. He was welcomed by foreign officials. Today he is scheduled to meet Union Minister Jaisankar.
