The Russian stock market grew by more than 15% at the end of 2021, follows from the data of the Moscow Exchange.

Thus, the ruble index of the Moscow Exchange by the close of the main session on the last trading day of the year, December 30, increased by 1.23%, to 3787.26 points. The growth for the year was 15.15%, for the day – 1.23%. The RTS dollar index reached 1595.76 points (+ 15.01% per year, + 0.38% per day).

Among the sectoral indices of the Moscow Exchange, the greatest growth in the outgoing year was shown by the indices of chemistry and petrochemistry (64.15%), construction companies (48.37%), finance (40.09%), oil and gas (24.71%), metals and mining (7.34%) and transport (6.26%). The indexes of information technology (16.55%), the electric power industry (15.21%), telecommunications (10.35%) and the consumer sector (3.18%) declined more than others.

The net inflow of foreign investment in Russian stocks since the beginning of the year amounted to $ 1.58 billion, Kommersant reported, citing data from BCS Global Markets. This is the first positive result since 2016.
