Russian tennis players lost to Canadians in the ATP Cup semifinals

Russians Daniil Medvedev and Roman Safiullin lost to Canadians Felix Auger-Alyassim and Denis Shapovalov in the doubles match of the ATP Cup semi-final with a score of 6: 4, 5: 7, 7:10. The Canadian team won the semifinal confrontation with the Russian national team with a score of 2-1.

Earlier, Safiullin lost to Shapovalov (4: 6, 7: 5, 4: 6), and Medvedev defeated Auger-Alyassim (6: 4, 6: 0). In the final, the Canadian national team will face the Spanish team, which beat the Poles in the semifinals with a score of 2–0.

The final match will take place on Sunday 9 January. The tournament takes place in Australia.

A month ago, the Russian team won the Davis Cup, which took place in Madrid. In the final against the Croatian national team, Andrei Rublev and Daniil Medvedev convincingly outplayed Bornu Goyo and Marina Cilic, without losing a single game to their opponents.
