Former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili was transported from the prison hospital to the military hospital in the city of Gori on Saturday night. The footage of the movement of the convoy with the ambulance car was broadcast live by the Georgian television channel TV Pirveli, TASS reports.
Saakashvili was accompanied by his attending physician, lawyers, and also his mother. Now lawyers and a doctor are waiting for permission to get to the politician and get acquainted with the conditions of his detention.
Let us remind you that on Friday the Georgian Minister of Justice Rati Bergadze said that Saakashvili would be taken to a military hospital in the city of Gori, where he would receive medical assistance. This required the consent of the patient himself. Later, Nika Gvaramia’s lawyer said that the ex-president agreed and was ready to end the hunger strike in the hospital.
