Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple: Opening for Mandal and Makaravilakku Pujas – Online Booking and Extended Darshan Hours

The Sabarimala Ayyappan temple walk was opened on the 16th of last month in view of Mandal and Makaravilakku Pujas. In view of this, many devotees are making darshan of Sami through online booking. The famous Makaravilakku Puja is scheduled to be held on 15th of next month (January).

On that day, Sami will be dressed in golden ornaments brought from Pandalam and a special Deeparathan will be held. Devotees worship Makara Jyoti which appears continuously on Ponnambala Mt.

The number of devotees visiting Sabarimala is increasing day by day. According to this, more than 14 lakh devotees have had darshan of Sami so far this year. The number of devotees continues to increase. Devotees have been waiting for more than 12 hours to have darshan due to crowding.

In this situation, due to the increase in the number of devotees, the Sami darshan time of devotees at Sabarimala has been extended by 1 hour from today (11.12.2023). Accordingly, instead of 4 pm, the walk is opened at 3 pm and devotees are allowed to visit till 11 pm. As the number of devotees continues to rise, officials are taking measures to accommodate the increased crowds and ensure the safety and convenience of all those making the pilgrimage.
