Ten days after Mandala Makaravilak Pilgrimage started, Sabarimala’s income has exceeded 52 crore rupees. The highest income comes from the sale of bread and flour. With the removal of covid restrictions, this time there was a huge flow of pilgrims in Sabarimala. As the weather became favorable, devotees from other states flocked to Sannidhanam. In the first 10 days, through the sale of Appam Aravana, I got 26 crore rupees. 12 crores were also received.

As the number of pilgrims started arriving as before, Rs 48 lakhs were received in the form of wound care. 31 lakhs was also received from Abhishekam. 52 crores in total. The revenue was Rs 9.92 crore at the same time last year when there were restrictions due to Covid. Three-quarters of the income is spent on entertainment. An average of two and a half lakh aravanas are sold in Sannidhanam per day. Aravana has 51 lakh containers in stock. Darshan is done entirely through booking. So far more than five lakh people have visited and returned.

Melshanthi K Jayaraman Namboothiri said it is the duty of the devotees to protect the sacred Sannidhanam and the Sabaramala flower. This is a Mandala season, where the nature is in favor, except for the covid epidemic. There has been an unprecedented crowd of devotees so far. The increase in traffic to pre-Covid levels is a sign that Sabarimala is a world-class pilgrimage destination. It is expected that the traffic will increase further. Monday also has the special feature of twelve lamp festival which is very important for devotees. It gets crowded after twelve lights. Melshanthi said that the legend of the twelve lamp festival is related to the worship of the goddess by the twelve sons of Panthirukulam.
