LOS ANGELES — Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen are joining Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the Muppets for a special event bringing music, comedy, and a healthy dose of chaos back to the original Muppet Theatre.

The new “The Muppet Show” special, set to premiere February 4 on both ABC and Disney+, marks a return to the iconic stage where the beloved series first captivated audiences.

“It’s the return of ‘The Muppet Show,’ back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again depending on how tonight goes,” Kermit the Frog quipped in a newly released teaser.

The teaser offers a first look at Carpenter and Miss Piggy sharing a moment, with Carpenter declaring, “You are an icon.” To which Miss Piggy bashfully replies, “You’re too sweet. Go on.”

A separate scene features Seth Rogen and Fozzie Bear in a comedian-to-comedian exchange. “It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” Rogen shares. Fozzie responds with his signature wit, “Oh… Got any other dreams?”

The special is directed by Alex Timbers, who also serves as executive producer. Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee are executive producers for Point Grey Pictures. David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, and Michael Steinbach are executive producers for The Muppets Studio. Carpenter, Albertina Rizzo, Matt Vogel, and Eric Jacobson also serve as executive producers.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of ABC, Disney+, 20th Television and this ABC station.
