“All the works carried out within the framework of the double extension of the operation period are aimed at ensuring the safety and efficient operation of the nuclear power plant. All scientific organizations and regulatory bodies will monitor it,” he said.
Let’s remind: the representatives of the “civil society” of Azerbaijan addressed the co-chairs of the inaugural Nuclear Energy Summit, Prime Minister of Belgium Alexandre de Croix and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Raphael Grossi, in an open letter regarding the Metsamor nuclear power plant in Armenia.
They called on the leadership of the summit to pay attention to, as they defined, the “global danger posed by the nuclear power plant in an emergency state” and raise the issue of immediately stopping the operation of the nuclear power plant before the government of Armenia.
