They don’t even have to fund it. I could get other outside people to fund it. I could turn the franchise around. I know I could.”

Stockman confirmed on the official Saints Row Reddit page that Embracer has indeed requested a pitch for a reboot. “Guys and Gals, I have hopeful news,” he wrote. “I’ve been asked to create a pitch for a Saints Row reboot! I can’t say anything more than that but my dreams for this game just became a little more than just dreams!”

Instead, he intends to “go back to my roots” and deliver a game that honors the franchise’s origins.
