MCOCA Charges filed in Salman Khan Residence Firing Case
A special Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) court has formally charged five individuals, including those alleged too have carried out the shooting, in connection with the firing incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024. The framing of charges signals the imminent start of a trial, as Judge Mahesh Jadhav steadfast sufficient evidence to proceed against Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Rafiq Sardar Choudhari, and Harpal Singh, all of whom have pleaded not guilty.
The court has also named gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi, and Ravtaram Swami as wanted accused in the case, indicating a broader inquiry into the alleged criminal conspiracy.
According to court documents, the incident unfolded in the early hours of April 14, 2024, when two individuals on a motorcycle – identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal – allegedly discharged firearms outside Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, where Khan resides. Gupta, Pal, Bishnoi, Choudhary, and Singh are currently in judicial custody. Tragically, another individual arrested in connection with the case, Anujkumar Thapan, reportedly died by suicide while in police custody.
The charge order details a meticulously planned operation orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. Authorities allege that the arrested individuals, along with those still at large, were integral to a criminal conspiracy aimed at not only harming Khan but also instilling fear among Mumbai residents to assert dominance.
“The accused agreed with a common objective to do an illegal act – which was to commit the murder of the victim by use of firearms and to create terror in the minds of the citizens of Mumbai city for establishing supremacy,” the charge order states.
Investigators revealed that Harpal Singh allegedly provided crucial intelligence gathered by Rafiq Sardar Choudhary,who had previously conducted reconnaissance around Khan’s home,to the wanted accused. Lawrence Bishnoi is accused of supplying the firearms and ammunition used by Gupta and Pal during the shooting.

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in a jail in Ahmedabad,while his brother,Anmol Bishnoi,was recently extradited to India from the United States and is presently in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a separate case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to pursue the remaining wanted suspects and unravel the full extent of the alleged conspiracy.
