Samsung Prepares for 60W Charging with New Power Adapter, Hints at S26 Ultra Advancements
Table of Contents
Samsung is poised to significantly accelerate charging speeds for its flagship devices, beginning with the anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company is laying the foundation for this leap forward with the release of its new 60W Power Adapter, model number EP-T6010NBEGWW, currently appearing on Samsung websites across Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
Faster Charging on the Horizon
The introduction of the 60W adapter signals Samsung’s commitment to exceeding the 45W wired charging limit previously offered on its devices. According to a company release, the new adapter supports Super Fast Charging 2.0 and features a remarkably low standby power draw of just 5mW. It is compatible with USB-PD (5V, 15V, 20V) and PPS (5-20V) standards at up to 3A, though it notably lacks AVS support.
For context, the previous 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 adapter (EP-T4511XBEGGB) was capped at 3A charging at 15V and 2.25A at 20V.
Beyond Smartphones: Versatile Power Delivery
Samsung is marketing the 60W adapter as a universal charging solution, extending its utility beyond smartphones to include Galaxy tablets and Galaxy Book laptops. While current Galaxy tablets do not yet support charging speeds exceeding 45W – a potential feature for the future Tab S12 series – Galaxy Books already accommodate 65W charging. This versatility positions the adapter as a valuable accessory for a wider range of Samsung products.
Safety and Design Considerations
The 60W Power Adapter incorporates multiple safety features, including temperature, overcurrent, and short circuit protection. It is also engineered for low electrical noise operation, ensuring a stable and efficient charging experience. The adapter is currently available exclusively in black and is priced at €53 in Europe.
S26 Ultra to Lead the Charge
Perhaps the most significant implication of this new adapter is its connection to the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. One analyst noted that the S26 Ultra is expected to be the first Samsung phone to take advantage of the faster-than-45W wired charging capabilities. Furthermore, Samsung plans to enhance wireless charging speeds, increasing them to 25W for the S26 Ultra – a substantial upgrade from the 15W offered on the S25 Ultra. The S26 and S26+ models are also slated to support 20W wireless charging. However, the charging situation for the standard S26 model appears less promising.

The release of the 60W Power Adapter is a clear indication of Samsung’s ongoing investment in charging technology, setting the stage for a new era of faster and more efficient power delivery across its product ecosystem.
