The world’s leading manufacturers of displays for electronics Samsung and LG are preparing to present new products at Display Week 2021. Samsung, in particular, will show a screen for mobile devices that can be folded in several places, according to Yonhap.

Samsung Display will unveil a 7.2-inch S-Foldable screen that is designed to fold twice. This OLED display is expected to be mass-produced in Samsung’s new generation of foldable smartphones.

These devices, when folded, will correspond in size to a smartphone, and when unfolded, they will correspond to a small tablet.

The company is also preparing a foldable 17-inch display with an aspect ratio of 4: 3. It can be used as a tablet and portable monitor. As part of Display Week, the premiere of a sub-screen camera technology and a display that moves to increase the screen area to the side will take place.

LG Display has prepared for the exhibition an 83-inch OLED panel with improved light output, a 48-inch OLED screen capable of reproducing sound by its own vibration without external speakers, new flexible, folding and transparent OLED panels, OLEDoS-silicon-based screens for devices with augmented reality technology and various flexible displays for use in cars.

Display Week 2021, hosted by the Society for Information Display (SID), will take place this week. Neither Samsung nor LG have reported on the timing of the appearance of serial electronics with new displays.
