Samsung May Release Six Galaxy Z Devices in 2027, Leak Claims

Huawei shipped 48% of global foldables in the April-to-June quarter while the global market slipped 2% to approximately 3.4 million units, according to data cited by Memeburn. Samsung could expand its hardware catalog in 2027 by introducing six different Galaxy Z devices, according to details shared online by tipster Anthony (@TheGalox_ on X). The rumored schedule potentially doubles the number of flexible models introduced in Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy Z lineup. Although Samsung’s own shipments grew 25% during that period, the conglomerate trailed behind competitors, while analysts project Apple to claim the market leadership position in 2027.

Inside the 2027 Lineup

The six-device roster outlined in the October 14, 2026 leak features several familiar categories alongside two new form factors. According to Memeburn, the leaked lineup comprises:

  • Galaxy Z TriFold 2: A device that folds twice into three panels, featuring a screen of roughly 10 inches when fully open.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra: A top-tier, book-style foldable.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro: A newly introduced middle tier within the book-style foldable family.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 9: The standard, base model book-style foldable.
  • Galaxy Z Slide: An outward-sliding form factor utilizing a rollable display.

The leak claims that the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 will launch ahead of the rest of the 2027 slate. This detail conflicts with an earlier July industry report placing its arrival alongside the Fold 9 models in July 2027, as noted by Memeburn.

Developing the Rollable Galaxy Z Slide

The Galaxy Z Slide abandons traditional hinges in favor of a flexible display that extends outward from the device body. Rollable phone concepts have circulated for years, including trademark applications filed by Samsung in 2021 and concept demonstrations at CES 2025, bringing such hardware to retail shelves presents an engineering challenge, as reported by Gizmodo.

Report Claims Samsung Has a Flood of Foldables Coming

Building a commercial rollable phone requires a moving mechanism, internal space for components that do not shift with the display, and protection for an OLED panel capable of withstanding thousands of winding and unwinding cycles without creasing or stretching, according to Samsung Gadget Hacks and Memeburn.

Commercial timing remains disputed. South Korean outlet Money Today reported this summer that Samsung was developing a rollable phone provisionally called the Z Slide with a target commercial debut in the first half of 2028, a timeline later than the 2027 date suggested by the leak.

Samsung Uses Reliability Tests for Current Foldable Models

Samsung has not confirmed specifications, pricing, or launch timelines for the rumored 2027 devices. Consumers currently considering upgrades must rely on established models such as the Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra. In a July 2026 engineering interview cited by Samsung Gadget Hacks, Samsung detailed more than 100 reliability validation tests covering conditions such as repeated folding, drops, pressure, moisture, and debris on its existing hardware.
