(San Antonio, 2026-02-09) — San Antonio is ranked as the No. 20 best place to get married in the United States for 2026, according to a new study by WalletHub.
The Alamo City offers a blend of affordability, attractions, and wedding services, making it a popular destination for couples, the study found.
- San Antonio ranks No. 20 nationally in WalletHub’s “Best Places to Get Married” report for 2026.
- Las Vegas, Nevada, tops the list, followed by Orlando, Miami, and Atlanta.
- The report considered wedding costs, venue options, and local attractions.
- San Antonio is more affordable than many other popular wedding destinations.
WalletHub’s 2026 report ranked 182 U.S. cities based on average wedding costs, the number of venues, vendors, and services available, and the number of activities and attractions in each city, according to the study.
The top five cities are Las Vegas, Nevada (No. 1); Orlando, Florida (No. 2); Miami, Florida (No. 3); Atlanta, Georgia (No. 4); and Tampa, Florida (No. 5). Austin and Houston, Texas, also made the top 10, ranking No. 6 and No. 7 respectively.
San Antonio’s entertainment scene and tourism industry contributed to its No. 22 ranking in the “activities and attractions” category, while its wedding facilities and services were ranked 37th nationally, the report stated.
The Knot reports there are more than 250 wedding venues in San Antonio, including scenic gardens and hotels along the River Walk.
Couples spend approximately $33,000 on average for their wedding, according to The Knot. San Antonio ranked No. 79 out of 182 cities in the report’s cost category, indicating it is a relatively affordable option compared to other popular wedding destinations.
“Tying the knot is a huge commitment, and the wedding industry in 2025 was worth nearly $66.2 billion,” the report’s author wrote, noting a decrease from $78 billion in previous years.
Why It Matters
The ranking highlights San Antonio’s growing appeal as a wedding destination. While traditionally popular locations like Las Vegas and Orlando continue to dominate, the Alamo City’s relatively lower costs and diverse offerings are attracting more couples. This trend could provide a boost to the local tourism industry and wedding-related businesses. The study also reflects a broader shift in the wedding industry, with couples increasingly prioritizing experiences and affordability alongside traditional elements.
Eight other Texas cities also earned spots among the top 100 wedding destinations: El Paso (No. 32), Fort Worth (No. 44), Lubbock (No. 74), Amarillo (No. 79), Plano (No. 82), Arlington (No. 90), Laredo (No. 99), and Corpus Christi (No. 100).
