The artist Sara Baras was responsible for kicking off the second edition of the Cerdanya Music Festival yesterday, which until August 20 will offer a dozen musical proposals in a natural area of Llívia (Cerdanya). Although the rain forced the suspension of the first of the planned concerts, that of Fangoria this Wednesday, the problems arising from the accumulation of water in the parking area have already been resolved. The organization explained that nearly 12,000 seats have been sold, almost the same number of attendees that closed the first edition, held in Alp. This stage will also feature artists such as Joan Dausà, Stay Homas, God Save The Queen and Raphael, among others.

The dancer and choreographer Sara Baras offered her latest work ‘Alma’ in the town of Cerdano, where she fuses bolero and flamenco through well-known but updated melodies. So he said that the public will be able to remember what these “soundtracks” are like and feel “emotion and nostalgia” when listening to them. In this sense, he believes that it is necessary to have “respect” for tradition and maintain it, however, with an identity of its own. Regarding the location of the festival, Baras stated that it is a “beautiful” place and pointed out that he notices the desire of the people to experience the “live”. In addition, she indicated that for her it is a “gift” to be reunited with the public and to be able to sympathize with “their art”.

To carry out the contest, more than 150 people from Cerdanya have been hired, as explained by the director of Concert Studio, Martín Pérez. The festival occupies a total area of 87,000 square meters, which includes a large parking area, a gastronomic space where performances are also carried out during the afternoon and a large auditorium where almost 2,300 chairs have been installed. In addition, as a novelty, this has an air heating system.
