The multinational of Asturian origin Advanced Technology Systems (Satec) will receive the Plaque for Merit in Commerce tomorrow in Madrid. “It is a public recognition of the contributions to promoting the role of women in the internationalization of the Spanish economy,” said Xiana Margarida Méndez, Secretary of State for Commerce and president of ICEX Spain Exportation and Investment, when this award that has been relaunched the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

“It is a distinction that makes us especially excited because of who grants it and for what it is rewarded for. It reinforces our philosophy and raises our self-esteem,” said Luis Rodríguez-Ovejero from Oviedo, founder and president of Satec, a group of companies that integrates advanced solutions. of information technologies born in 1988.

“We are a group that has grown with the internationalization of its activity and to achieve this we have always looked for the best in foreign trade. Although the information technology sector is very masculinized, our export teams have always included women and they have played a very prominent role,” stated Rodríguez-Ovejero, who highlighted the important implementation of Satec in African and Middle Eastern countries. “In many of these countries there is no culture of equality and the presence of women was shocking. Despite this, we achieved a strong implementation and in that sense we have left our mark,” said the president of Satec.

The Plaque of Merit in Commerce aims to distinguish organizations, entities or companies that have stood out for their actions in the field of domestic and foreign trade and support for the role of women in the internationalization of the Spanish economy. The 2023 plates will be delivered tomorrow in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. In addition to Satec, the other recipients of the plaque are the Spanish Association of Franchisors in the domestic trade category and the Romeu Group in the foreign trade category.

Along with the plaques, the medals for Merit in Trade will also be awarded tomorrow in Madrid to Iratxe Las Hayas Madariaga (promoting the role of women in internationalization), María Sánchez Ruiz (domestic trade) and Rafael Myro Sánchez (foreign trade).
