by time news

Srinagar – Senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned from the Congress saying that Article 370 of the Constitution, which was abrogated by the central government two years ago, cannot be restored, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out that the restoration of Article 370 requires a two-thirds majority in Parliament. Ghulamnabi Azad also stated that no one will be allowed to exploit the people of Kashmir on account of Article 370. Azad clarified his position on issues related to Kashmir when he was about to announce a new political party.

It is difficult to restore Section 370. A two-thirds majority in Parliament is required to reinstate Article 37. I will not allow the people of Kashmir to be exploited in the name of this department. I will not mislead people by mentioning the name of this department. In any case, Section 370 will not be restored’ – said Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“More than 100,000 people have already been killed in Kashmir due to political exploitation alone. More than five lakh children were orphaned. I will not ask for votes from anyone by misrepresenting and exploiting them. I will only say things that can be done even if we are defeated in the elections’ – Azad clarified by promoting the local parties.

“We will announce a new political party in 10 days. I need your support to bring peace to Kashmir, to ensure employment and to provide land to Kashmiris,” Azad said.

The NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi canceled the provision of special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution and special rights under Article 35A to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
