Police in Fürstenau, in the Osnabrück district, discovered that roughly one in six bicycles checked had defects during a safety inspection of around 150 bikes on Monday morning. The initiative aimed to improve school children’s safety on their commutes.

Police conducted a day of inspections in the old town, focusing on enhancing overall security.

Emergency services found that regulations were frequently disregarded, and many bicycles also had technical issues.

Police in the Verden and Osterholz districts are prioritizing the visibility of school children on their bikes.
