Table of Contents
A highly selective workshop focused on architectural design and digital fabrication will be held at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles from June 29 to July 24, 2026. The intensive program, led by instructors Tommaso Brighenti, Elena Manferdini, and Domenico Chizzoniti, aims to provide advanced training for aspiring architects and designers.
The workshop is designed for students currently in their third year of a Bachelor’s degree program or their first year of a Master’s degree program. With a limited capacity of just two students, the program promises a uniquely personalized learning experience.
Application Process and Key Dates
Prospective participants should note a two-stage application process. The initial review will focus on the applicant’s CV, portfolio, and a motivation letter. Candidates selected from this first round will then be invited to an interview in English with Professor Brighenti.
Applications will be accepted between January 1 and January 30, 2026. Interested students are encouraged to prepare a strong portfolio demonstrating their skills and a compelling statement of purpose.
Required Skills and Program Details
Successful applicants will demonstrate proficiency in digital modeling software and a solid understanding of the English language. The program also anticipates a level of preparedness for utilizing advanced software and tools within the architectural design process.
The workshop is valued at 100 hours and is equivalent to 4 CFU (Crediti Formativi Universitari) for students at AUIC/ARCH. It is categorized as a free-choice activity within those academic frameworks. Further details, including a workshop sheet, poster, and program plan, are available for download.
