Science & Mountain Films: Pitch Session Connects Researchers with Media Professionals

A unique pitch session, designed to foster collaboration between the scientific community and the media, will take place on Saturday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Palais des Sports de Grenoble. The event, organized by the Mountains & Sciences Meetings in partnership with the CNRS and the University of Grenoble Alpes, aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and compelling storytelling.

The Mountains & Sciences Meetings are dedicated to exploring the intersection of science and mountain environments in innovative ways, and this pitch session is a key component of that mission. It provides a platform for researchers, engineers, project leaders, and communications managers to present their work directly to directors, producers, and journalists actively seeking fresh and relevant content.

“This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional scientific communication,” stated a representative from the organizing committee. “We want to inspire films, documentaries, and reports that capture the complexities and importance of mountain science.”

A Two-Way Street for Innovation

The event is structured to benefit both sides of the equation. Scientists are encouraged to share their research, projects, and findings, while media professionals can connect with experts and gain access to original information. Participants are urged to come prepared to discuss potential collaborations and develop new projects.

Scientists attending the session are required to submit three presentation slides outlining their research topic and supporting illustrations prior to the event. This will facilitate a focused and productive pitch process.

For directors, producers, and journalists, the session offers a chance to discover compelling narratives and build relationships with leading researchers. The event promises access to a wealth of untapped stories and the potential to create impactful media.
