KYIV. April 2. UNN. In Japan, it was possible to record an unusual type of fish that can be at a critical depth, he reports UNN with reference to the BBC.

Details

Scientists have discovered a unique species of fish that swims at an extremely low depth in the ocean. This type of fish is called a snail fish of the genus Pseudoliparis, which can swim at a depth of 8336 meters.

The video showing these fish was recorded by an autonomous “landing module” that was dropped into the Izu-Ogasawara trough in southern Japan.

Addition

Before that, 10 years ago, a scientist from the University of Western Australia predicted that live fish could be found at a depth of 8,200 to 8,400 meters.

Although this type of fish has not yet been caught to fully determine its species origin, researchers have already managed to catch several fish that were a little higher, at a depth of 8,022 meters.
