“We are deploying 2,250 elements, 318 vehicles, 87 motorcycles, two armored vehicles and two dogs (…) will be circulating through this group of 15 neighborhoods of Miguel Hidalgo, serving the citizens, carrying out searches and, where appropriate, arrests and referrals of generators of violence,” explained the head of Government Martí Batres.

As part of this operation, security elements will reinforce surveillance in neighborhoods such as Tacuba, Anáhuac, Popotla, Torre Blanca, Argentina Poniente, Ampliación Torre Blanca, Santo Tomás, San Juanico, Los Manzanos and San Diego Ocoyoacac, among others.
In his participation, the Secretary of Citizen Security, Pablo Vázquez Camacho, referred to a decrease of more than 20% in the daily average of high-impact crimes, from January 1 to March 31 of this year, compared to the daily average recorded in 2023.
For his part, the head of the capital’s Attorney General’s Office, Ulises Lara, reported a 67% reduction in high-impact crimes in the mayor’s office between 2018 and 2023.
“So far in 2024, in this mayor’s office, 57 people arrested for high-impact crimes have been brought to trial. During 2023, 26 searches were carried out and 168 arrest warrants were completed. Likewise, so far in 2024, 18 people reported as missing have been located in this district, and 27 people whose disappearance was reported in Miguel Hidalgo, were located in other parts of the city,” he reported.

For this operation, the Secretariat of Citizen Security provides 2,028 elements, 279 vehicles, 87 motorcycles and two armored vehicles; The Attorney General’s Office provides 30 elements and 10 vehicles; the Secretariat of National Defense, 100 elements, 15 vehicles and two dogs; the Secretary of the Navy, 22 elements and four vehicles; and the National Guard, 70 elements and 10 vehicles.
