Police vehicle inspection in Chennai has been intensified as a complete curfew has been imposed today to control the corona infection.

A total of 312 vehicle check posts have been set up in the Chennai Metropolitan Police cargo area and 10,000 police personnel from the Law and Order, Traffic and Armed Forces are engaged in intensive surveillance.

Thus the roads of Chennai are deserted. Today’s Pongal is crowded with people in many parts of Chennai, including beaches and amusement parks. But due to the corona infection the Marina Beach Road is found to be completely unpaved. The beach road is seen losing weeds without the Pongal celebrations for the 2nd year in a row.

Barriers have been set up to prevent anyone from entering the Marina Beach Service Road. Vehicle testing has been intensified. Chennai Police has asked the public to co-operate in the vehicle inspection.
