It started as a section of Zara, where scented candles and little else were sold, but little by little, Zara Home has been gaining weight within the Galician giant, with its own personality and a network of more than 400 stores. Now, far is that image of a ‘low cost’ chain, where the items were not very expensive. The brand’s latest twist has been to launch a collection of luxury furniture, with its most expensive piece to date: a wooden wardrobe for more than 6,000 euros.
This piece belongs to a special collection that Zara Home has launched with the Belgian designer Vincent Van Duysen. “This collection focuses on the table and the dining room, with pieces that encourage sharing special moments at home. The new elements, which embody the values that Van Duysen applies to design, materialize in the form of dining tables, chairs and tableware, and are committed to warmth and versatility thanks to simple silhouettes, noble materials and timeless manufacturing”. Cabinet 01, which is the name of the cabinet, is an iconic design from the Van Duysen archives, now reissued. One of the most versatile pieces in the collection, this piece of furniture was designed to fulfill more than one function: from displaying crockery in a dining room, to adding storage space to a living room or office, to being a wardrobe in a bedroom. .
It has two doors, with three storage shelves each, which close with a magnet. It also has a magnet that allows it to remain open to the sides, in case it is used as a display. Inside there are three drawers and three shelves that between them store 38.3 cm.
The solid oak wood used to create this piece of furniture is covered with a multilayer fir board veneered in oak that protects it.

As for the rest of the collection, Zara Home has also put a television unit on sale for 4,800 euros (with shipping costs of 250 euros); a sofa for 5,000 euros; a table for 4,800 euros or an armchair for 2,600 euros. From there, prices drop to 900 euros for a sofa cover; 750 euros for a footrest or 350 euros for a chair.
Zara Home, which last July renewed its logo, integrated its business into that of Zara in 2019, so Inditex does not offer specific data on the household items chain. The firm, which took its first steps in 2003, has a network of stores of more than 400 physical establishments. The brand was the first of the group to venture into electronic commerce and is currently present in more than two hundred online markets.
