It was also attended by Mr. Souhaiebou Kebé, advisor to the Senegalese Minister of the Interior.

The said Convention aims in particular to allow the Great Mosque of Dakar to benefit from the Moroccan expertise acquired in the religious management of mosques and the qualification of imams.

At the end of the signing ceremony of this Convention, the Moroccan delegation, composed of the Ambassador of the Kingdom, Hassan Naciri and members of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema led by Mr. Mohamed Rifki, was received in audience by the Senegalese Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Mr. Antoine Félix Diome.

On this occasion, the Senegalese minister welcomed the unique relations between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, and His Excellency the President of the Republic, Macky Sall, as well as the regular interactions between the two countries. brothers and friends.

Mr. Diome welcomed, in this regard, the signing of this agreement which constitutes, according to him, a continuation of a fruitful and centuries-old relationship existing between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Senegal.

The Great Mosque of Dakar, with its 67-meter minaret, is one of the most important religious buildings in the capital of Senegal.

A symbol of pride in the great historic Moroccan-Senegalese friendship, this Mosque was inaugurated on March 27, 1964 by the late HM King Hassan II, on the occasion of his official visit to Senegal and by the first President of the Republic of Senegal, the late Léopold Sédar Senghor and the Caliph General of the Tijanes, El Haj Abdoul Aziz Sy Dabakh.

It should be noted that the centuries-old relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Senegal, which are built on complicity and proximity, have been further strengthened in recent decades, affecting all areas, as illustrated by the eight official visits made by His Majesty the King to Dakar, with their share of agreements and conventions.
