The Israeli cyber company Sentinel One was issued in last year’s IPO wave at a value of nearly 10 billion dollars, jumped after the IPO and became one of the largest Israeli companies in the world with a value approaching 20 billion dollars, but since then it has crashed and is now traded at a value of 4 billion Dollar only.
The company is currently being evaluated by the Gartner Hype Cycle for the month of December 2022 for endpoint security. According to Gartner, “Security and risk managers must prepare for next-wave technology to continue to protect endpoints from attacks. EDR remains a mainstream technology, while XDR is driving the adoption of new use cases and technologies such as UES, DaaS, ASA/ASM, BAS, EM and ITDR.”
Regarding Sentinel they added “We believe that Sentinelvan’s presence in these categories mentioned in the Gartner report highlights the breadth of technology and services of the Singularity XDR platform to help organizations reduce expenses while minimizing risk.”
Sentinel was recognized in 4 innovation categories. Extended detection and response (XDR), according to Gartner “XDR products reduce the overall cost of managing security incidents, improve the efficiency of incident response teams and improve the organization’s risk posture. Effective XDR implementations enable faster and more automated detection of threats and shorter response times through automated actions. XDR tools offer deep integration with other security tools and can coordinate response actions across them.”
Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR): “Identity is now the foundation of security operations. Only identified and authorized end users, devices, and services will have access to your systems. ITDR adds an additional layer of security even to existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) deployments.”
Endpoint Detection and Response :(EDR) “EDR is an essential part of any multi-layered defense. It must be deployed to all systems in order to report configuration and telemetry, identify abnormal or malicious activity, uncover the tactics and techniques of advanced attacks, and provide a rapid and appropriate response. EDR Prevents the activation of known malware and ransomware and can detect advanced threats.”
“EPP” Endpoint Protection Platforms: (EPP) is considered basic security hygiene for all organizations and is fully deployed in 99% of enterprise endpoints. It is impossible to pre-develop protection for all possible future attack techniques, increasing the emphasis on effective detection and response capabilities of EDR .”
